Position Overview
You will help lead the show staff team to create and perform engaging opening and closing ceremonies for our Scouting guests. You'll also support other performances tied to high-adventure programs, bringing energy, creativity, and professionalism to every production. This role focuses on storytelling and creating a memorable experience that enhance the overall program.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead your team in planning, rehearsing, and performing ceremonies, stage shows, and other live productions.
- Guide the creative process for scripting, set lists, and production design to develop engaging performances.
- Foster a positive, enthusiastic, and adaptable team culture through mentorship, feedback, and clear leadership.
- Assign roles, schedules, and responsibilities to team members; ensure strong coordination and communication.
- Perform in shows as needed, contributing musically or theatrically alongside the team.
- Manage backstage operations, including audio, lighting, and staging, to keep shows running smoothly and on time.
- Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions
- Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area
- Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership
- Abide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbook
Qualifications
Minimum age : 18+Demonstrated leadership experience in theater, live performance, music, and / or event productionVery comfortable speaking, singing, or performing in front of groups between 10-300Scouting experience preferredWilling to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communicationPhysical & Practical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and hike up to 8 hours daily and ability to lift / move up to 50 poundsComplete the Annual Health and Medical Record , including height / weight guidelinesHousing : 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp | Uniform : Summit Staff Uniform | Work Hours : 45-55 hoursDesired Traits
