Location : Tupelo, MS 38801 (Mississippi healthcare jobs)

Unit : Cardiac Stepdown Unit (16 beds)

Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse

Start Dates : 12 / 3 / 2025 or 12 / 17 / 2025

Duration : 13-week travel nursing contract

Shift : 12-hour days (7a-7p)

Hours per Week : 36

Schedule : 3-1-3 or 6 on / 8 off (confirmed at contract start)

Floating : Required to other stepdown units as needed

Weekend / Holiday : Rotating, including Christmas or New Year's shifts

EMR : Epic

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Mississippi RN license (Registered Nurse)

BLS and ACLS certifications (required for cardiac nursing jobs)

NIH Stroke Scale certification

Minimum 1 year of recent cardiac stepdown or stepdown RN experience

Ability to float to other stepdown units within the hospital

Full scheduling flexibility and availability

Must pass Basic and Advanced Dysrhythmia test (80% or higher)

Fingerprinting process must begin within 48 hours of offer acceptance

All compliance documents due 7 days before start date

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in the cardiac stepdown unit

Monitor, interpret, and respond to cardiac rhythms

Administer medications and treatments as prescribed

Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes

Float to other stepdown units as required

Maintain accurate documentation in Epic EMR

Follow hospital policies, including infection control and safety protocols

Participate in weekend and holiday rotations
