Job Description

HumanHire is working with a small family-owned company in Freeport who is looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist join their team. This company has been family owned and operated for over 40 years and is looking for someone who has experience with posting payments and collections activities in a B2B environment.

Please note, this is a contract-to-hire position, and you will be a HumanHire employee for a 4-month duration before converting onto the company's payroll as a permanent employee

We offer :

Pay : $65,000-$70,000 per year plus 401k, full health benefits, PTO, and profit-sharing bonus upon becoming permanent

Hours : 8AM-5PM or 9AM-6PM M-F (occasional weekends / weeknight shift which can be done remotely, will also be either an OT shift or given a day off in rotation during the week)

Weekly pay and health benefits during the contract phase of employment

Accounts Receivable Specialist Responsibilities

Ensure timely collection of outstanding payments, maintain accurate customer records, and track account status for all B2B accounts.

Generate and distribute invoices to clients, ensuring accuracy, and assist with the reconciliation of customer payments against open invoices.

Address and resolve billing issues, payment disputes, and account inquiries by collaborating with clients and internal teams to find timely solutions.

Perform proactive collections activities, including sending reminders, negotiating payment terms, and following up on overdue accounts to reduce outstanding balances.

Prepare and review accounts receivable aging reports, identify trends in payment patterns, and provide regular updates to management on outstanding debts and cash flow projections.

Accounts Receivable Specialist Experience

3 years of AR experience, preferably working with commercial businesses and vendors.

Proficiency in Excel and accounting software.

SAGE experience preferred but not required.

High school diploma or equivalent.
