Location : Manhattan, NY (Hybrid, 3 days in office)

Duration : 6 Months Contract (subject to extension)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Network Operations Engineer to manage and optimize enterprise network infrastructure, ensuring reliable connectivity, high performance, and operational efficiency. The role involves end-to-end monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational management of network systems, supporting business-critical applications and services in a high-volume, regulated environment. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with network protocols, monitoring tools, and a solid understanding of IT operations and enterprise network architecture.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN / WAN, routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and network monitoring systems.

Ensure timely and reliable network availability to support business-critical systems and applications.

Monitor network performance and troubleshoot operational issues related to network connectivity, security, and performance.

Implement, optimize, and maintain network configurations, scripts, and operational procedures.

Collaborate with IT teams, business stakeholders, and vendors to meet operational SLAs and ensure network reliability.

Apply domain knowledge to manage network operations supporting financial, trading, or regulated environments (preferred).

Support network automation, process improvement, and proactive monitoring initiatives to reduce downtime and operational risks.

Document network architecture, operational procedures, incident reports, and resolutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

7+ years of experience in network operations, network administration, or related IT infrastructure roles.

Hands-on experience with enterprise network technologies, including routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and monitoring tools.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.

Experience managing network operations in hybrid or multi-site environments.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Familiarity with network automation or scripting (Python, Ansible, PowerShell) is preferred.

Understanding of ITIL processes, incident management, and change management frameworks.

Preferred Skills

Experience supporting financial services, capital markets, or regulated enterprise environments.

Knowledge of cloud networking platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Familiarity with high-availability network architectures and disaster recovery planning.

Experience with network monitoring and alerting tools for proactive operational management.
