As a Lead / Principal AI Scientist , you will lead the evaluation, optimization, and deployment of AI models for education, collaborating with product managers, engineers, curriculum specialists, and policy teams to develop pedagogically relevant and scalable solutions.

Our Team

You will join the Digital Excellence & Products Division (DXD) , a team driving MOE’s digital transformation. Our AI / Data Science team focuses on applying AI to real-world educational challenges, from personalized learning to school operations. We evaluate and optimize top-tier generative AI and LLM solutions, adapting them to MOE’s needs, and contribute to horizontal AI platform development.

What You Will Be Working On

  • Evaluate and deploy AI solutions for education, adapting best-in-class AI / LLM technologies for MOE’s context.
  • Optimize and fine-tune models to meet performance goals using open-source or commercial tools.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to integrate AI into live platforms used in schools.
  • Lead benchmarking and testing of AI models across pedagogical, technical, and ethical dimensions.
  • Develop evaluation frameworks and tooling for scalable model assessment and governance.
  • Contribute to horizontal AI infrastructure and model maturity strategies.
  • Explore new use cases for AI in education, prototyping applications like content generation, adaptive learning, and automation.
  • Support AI strategy and governance, including horizon scanning, research, data policy, and ethics discussions.

What We Are Looking For

  • Applied AI leadership with experience in evaluating and adapting advanced AI technologies for real-world use.
  • Strong skills in designing tests, analyzing results, and iterating solutions.
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to ethical and responsible AI principles.
  • Outcome-driven mindset focused on impactful, scalable solutions.

    • Required Qualifications And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or related; Master’s or PhD preferred.
  • 5–8+ years of experience in AI, machine learning, or applied data science with a proven track record.
  • Proficiency in Python and frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face.
  • Experience in deploying AI models in production environments.
  • Familiarity with LLMs, generative AI, or agentic AI systems.
  • Skills in benchmarking, evaluation design, and performance analysis.
  • Strong collaboration, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Passion for public good and interest in education technology; experience in education sector is a plus.
  • Candidates will be considered for Lead or Principal level based on experience and scope.
