We're searching for an Accounting Manager to join our Tax team in our Tallahassee office. This position is responsible for all facets of client engagements, including supervising preparers and directing the day-to-day progress of engagements. This role requires a combination of technical accounting expertise and client relationship management to serve as a liaison between clients and the Firm. The Manager is responsible for maintaining high-quality service delivery and developing employees under their supervision.

Required Qualifications :
This position requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, or related discipline.5-7 years of comprehensive tax experience in a public accounting firm.3+ years of experience in a supervisory position.CPA or CPA candidate preferred.High-level analytical and reasoning skills.Ability to manage and develop staff in a highly interactive environment.Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain client relationships.Proficient in Microsoft Office.Knowledge of CCH Axcess Suite.Experience in Tax research.Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record and ability to operate a motor vehicle.Key Responsibilities :
Manage a portfolio of tax clients, providing high-quality services tailored to their specific needs.Utilize accounting, tax, and non-accounting software expertise to optimize processes, streamline workflows, and enhance client deliverables.Ensure compliance with regulatory accounting and tax standards, staying abreast of industry updates and best practices.Analyze financial performance, trends, and forecasts to provide data-driven decision-making to boost client services, identify opportunities for value-added service lines, and improve client satisfaction.Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and preparers regarding accounting and tax-related inquiries, issues, and recommendations.Apply appropriate accounting and tax theory and principles during the performance of tax engagements and assignments to ensure accurate and reliable data and client satisfaction.Manage, direct and monitor multiple client service teams on client engagements.Plan, execute, direct, and complete tax projects in a wide variety of industries and delegate to various tax preparers as deemed necessary.Interact closely with clients to provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise.Provide primary and secondary review of complicated or complex tax returns.Maintain familiarity with the qualifications of all tax associates under his / her supervision.Work with the Firm's management team to actively lead and monitor performance goals such as chargeable hours, growth, profitability, and innovation.Collaborate across various organizational departments and work with cross-functional teams to execute goals.Perform technical quality control review of work papers and other engagement items.Assist in the development, preparation, and delivery of internal and external continuous education.Comply with the Firm's training and continuous education requirements.Meet the Firm's guidelines for productivity, billing, and utilization standards.Partner with team leaders to ensure the appropriate amount of work is distributed among the team and the firm as needed.Complete complex tax returns accurately and efficiently.Contribute to the interviewing process and recruiting events as a representative of their department.Train and delegate various types of projects to employees while ensuring standards are being met.Begin to develop one or more areas of technical specialization (industry-related or subject matter) and begin to transition towards service to clients within such areas.Meet productivity and efficiency standards (billable hours).Prepare and issue accurate and timely invoices to clients based on agreed-upon terms and services rendered.Participate in department driven projects and committees to improve internal and external processes.Manage the lifecycle of projects / client engagements / business operations and / or subordinates.Start the conversation by applying here : https : / / careers.jmco.com / .
