Description :

Infusion RN for outpatient oncology infusion center.

Day shift, 5x8s, 0800 - 1630.

EPIC documentation.

1st time traveler OK.

Required to work on all coming holiday.

Certifications REQUIRED :

BLS - AHA

Chemo Certification - ONS or ONCC

Skills / Experience Preferred :

BMT

Infusion Center

Inpatient oncology

Outpatient oncology

Active Immunotherapy Specific / Non Specific

Recognize / manage side effects

Care of patient with various types of cancer

Administration of chemotherapy

Body fluid handling post Chemotherapy

Continuous Infusion of chemotherapy

IV push administration of chemotherapy

Management / disposal cytotoxic spills

Monitor chemotherapy

Oral Administration of chemotherapy

Recognize / communicate abnormal lab values

Accessing Ports

Care and management of ports

Central line blood draw

Central Line / Implanted Line Care

Infusion pump management

Intravenous hydration / multivitamins

PICC line care

Starting IVs

Medications (Antiemetic, Antitumor, Antibiotic, Corticosteroids, Neupogen, Hormonal therapy)

Acute Tumor Lysis Syndrome (ATLS)

Anaphylaxis

Extravasation injury

Hemorrhage; Sepsis

IV push narcotic agents

Medication tolerance / dependence assessment

Neutropenic precautions

Advanced directives

Hospice care; Patient / Family education and support

Withholding / withdrawing treatment

Symptom management (Alteration in skin and mucous membranes, Altered mental status, Constipation / diarrhea, Dysphagia, Edema, Nausea / vomiting, Neuropathy)
