What You'll Do As Senior Director of Product Management, Exemption Certificates, you will be the subject matter expert leading our Product team responsible for building Avalara's third largest product line. You partner with our Certificates GM to establish OKRs and a 3-year roadmap to provide clarity on product vision, and to challenge and inspire a motivated team of Product Managers. You will help guide strategic cross-product and projects to transform our business and customer experience, focused on efficiency to promote growth. What You'll Need to be Successful Demonstrated subject-matter expertise in exemption certificate management. A leadership style that combines product, operational, program and sales experience to ensure end to end accountability You enjoy motivating your people. You hire Experts, earning their loyalty and help grow their careers. You've led a team of 5-20 directs or matrixed and can work globally to align and inspire. Led / influenced product, design, engineering teams of 40 – 100+ Experience leading products and product teams from creation through launch for solutions that target small, mid, and enterprise-level businesses Experience with agile development methodologies and commonly used tools such as Jira, Confluence. Experience with customer journey maps to define end-to-end customer experiences Hands-on experience analyzing data and deriving outcomes Team player able to improve results influencing enthusiasm Experience conducting briefings and demos both internally and with customers Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (accounting, business, or computer science); MBA desirable 10+ years of related experience and 5+ years of leadership and management experience The base pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations. Colorado $199,200 - $338,800 (annually) Washington $199,200 - $374,400 (annually) California $199,200 - $410,100 (annually) NYC $220,200 - $410,100 (annually) This role is eligible for an annual bonus based on personal and company performance, depending on the terms of the applicable plan and your role.
