We are seeking a VSC Mechanical Claims Adjuster to join our Claims Assistance Center. In this role, you will evaluate mechanical failures, determine contract coverage, and work directly with repair facilities to ensure accurate and fair claim resolutions. This position requires strong mechanical knowledge, professional communication skills, and the ability to interpret diagnostics, labor times, and repair estimates.
What Youll Do
- Investigate, evaluate, and adjudicate Vehicle Service Contract (VSC) claims according to coverage guidelines.
- Review diagnostics, estimates, and inspection reports to determine repair eligibility.
- Authorize or deny repairs within authority limits; escalate high-value claims with recommendations.
- Communicate professionally with repair shops, dealers, and contract holders to guide claims to resolution.
- Validate labor times, parts pricing, and repair procedures to ensure accuracy and cost control.
- Negotiate scope of work and pricing when necessary.
- Work across multiple claims and estimating platforms while documenting all activity thoroughly.
- Review and approve TPA-submitted claims requiring higher-level authority.
- Collaborate with leadership on complex coverage matters and customer-impact issues.
What Were Looking For
Education & Experience
Bachelors degree or equivalent professional experience.24 years of automotive claims adjudication , ideally in VSC or extended warranty.Experience in a dealership service department (service advisor, technician, warranty admin) is highly desirable.Hands-on automotive repair or mechanic experience is a strong plus.Backgrounds in warranty administration, fleet maintenance, service writing, parts management, or related automotive roles are also relevant.Prior experience in a high-volume claims or TPA environment is beneficial.Technical Knowledge
Familiarity with automotive diagnostics, repair procedures, and labor / parts pricing.Comfortable working in multiple claims management and estimating systems.ASE certifications, OEM / factory training, or industry credentials are a plus.Additional Responsibilities
Participate in quality audits, peer reviews, and process improvement initiatives.Assist with onboarding and mentoring new team members.Maintain accurate documentation and ensure adherence to policy and regulatory requirements.Support workload spikes, special projects, and system migrations.Attend training sessions to stay current with coverage updates and procedural changes.Why This Role Attracts the Right Automotive Talent
