Job descriptionWork in a hospital Med / Surg Tele unit with a focus on general medical-surgical, neurosurgical, and orthopedic patients Patient population includes post-back surgery and orthopedic cases such as hip, knee, and shoulder procedures 28 staffed beds on the unit Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week from 18 : 45 to 07 : 15, covering various days of the week Required to work 7 weekend shifts per contract based on unit needs Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1 : 5 on days and 1 : 6 on nights, with flexibility based on staffing and unit needs Floating required to all Med / Surg units and may float to sister facilities as needed Epic EMR is used on the unit and previous Epic experience is required No on-call requirements Responsibilities include providing nursing care to general, neurosurgical, and orthopedic medical-surgical patients Navy scrubs are required as the unit dress code Maximum of 10 approved days for requested time off (RTO); RTO not allowed during blackout dates : December 21 to January 3, March 14 to March 21, May 8 to May 11, and May 21 to May 27 Additional support staff is provided, but candidates must be comfortable adapting to flexible staffing ratios Local candidates are accepted but those living less than 75 miles from the facility may receive a different pay rate Active CO or compact RN license required AHA BLS and CPR certification required At least 2 years of acute care RN experience required Previous experience in environments with flexible staffing ratios preferred Experience working with Epic EMR is required First-time travelers accepted if all experience and licensing requirements are met High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts
