About The Position

A respected regional health system in Syracuse, New York is seeking an experienced and dynamic Medical Director of Hospital Medicine to lead its inpatient care team. This is a full-time, permanent leadership position offering excellent compensation, no call or weekend duties, and the opportunity to guide a high-performing hospitalist program within a nationally recognized healthcare organization.

Position Highlights

Schedule : Monday–Friday, 40–50 hours per week (Day Shift)

No weekends or on-call responsibilities

Lead and manage a skilled Hospital Medicine team

Oversee clinical performance, patient safety, and quality metrics

Collaborate with administrative and clinical leadership to enhance efficiency and outcomes

Mentor hospitalists and support recruitment, onboarding, and development

Epic EMR system used for documentation

Supportive, team-based environment with a mission-driven focus

Not accepting Locums or visa candidates

Job Requirements

Board Certified / Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine

Active NY medical license (or willing to obtain)

Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in an acute care setting

Strong background in hospital medicine and team management

Clean malpractice and license history

ACLS, BLS, DEA, and PALS certifications required
