Job description

Transform Lives Through Communication in the Vibrant City of Atlanta - Join Us as a Speech Language Pathologist

Overview

Imagine a career that allows you to give voice to those who need it most. As a Speech Language Pathologist in the dynamic landscape of Atlanta, your contributions will extend far beyond addressing communication and swallowing disorders. You will play a pivotal role in unlocking potential, restoring confidence, and fostering connections - from young children articulating their first words to older adults regaining their independence.

This position offers a unique chance to work with a diverse range of patients throughout their lives, in an environment that beautifully merges outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient care. Whether you hold a passion for pediatric language development, adult neurogenic communication challenges, or geriatric cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation, you'll discover a rewarding and flexible experience that meets your passions.

Description

  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients from pediatric to geriatric populations utilizing standardized assessments and observational methods.
  • Craft individualized treatment plans addressing both immediate goals and long-term needs in communication, cognition, and swallowing.
  • Deliver personalized speech therapy interventions targeting communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
  • Collaborate closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to synchronize care strategies.
  • Provide educational resources for patients and families to aid their progress outside clinical sessions.
  • Assist with occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions in speech therapy, ensuring a seamless continuum of care throughout the therapeutic journey.
  • Maintain precise and timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational policies.
  • Engage in continual professional development to stay updated with advancements in the field through ongoing education and peer collaboration.

Education

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not fully ASHA-certified.
  • Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of employment.
  • Skills

  • Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods across all age groups, with comprehensive knowledge of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, fostering connections with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Adept at adjusting therapy techniques to accommodate various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated clinical judgment and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficient in utilizing electronic medical records and maintaining documentation standards.
  • Benefits

  • Highly competitive compensation reflecting your experience.
  • Flexible scheduling options to support your work-life balance and diverse caseloads.
  • Chances to specialize in areas like pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
  • Paid time off (PTO) along with holiday pay.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance options.
  • Financial support for continuing education and professional development opportunities.
  • A collaborative, team-oriented atmosphere dedicated to quality care and ongoing learning.
  • A Career That Moves with You - and Moves You

As a member of our team, you won't merely deliver speech therapy; you will contribute to a community-driven mission focused on restoring voices, enhancing communication, and generating joyful moments through the simplest acts of human connection : listening and being heard.

You will collaborate with clinicians who treat each other like family, thriving in a culture that values teamwork and cooperation above competition. Every patient carries a unique story; we trust you to help give shape to how that story is shared.

Why You'll Love Living and Working Here

Life in Atlanta exudes a vibrant energy that intertwines innovation with southern charm. Known for its rich history, diverse culture, and dynamic economy, this city offers the ideal setting for both personal and professional growth. You'll find that this metropolitan hub is not only full of opportunities but also filled with a welcoming spirit.

Venture outside to enjoy festivals that celebrate the arts, find yourself enchanted by the fragrant gardens and lush parks, or immerse yourself in the culinary scene that ranges from gourmet dining to exquisite food trucks serving authentic Southern cuisine. Whether you're enjoying live music or walking through the beautiful streets adorned with art and cultural references, Atlanta has something for everyone.

Moreover, enjoy the perks of an affordable cost of living coupled with no state income tax, providing a solid platform for establishing and nurturing your career. It's a place where ambitions flourish and life expands, and we want you to be a part of it.

No matter if you're starting your journey or a seasoned professional ready to take the next leap, you'll find an environment here that fosters growth both personally and professionally.

    Who We're Looking For

We're looking for a Speech Language Pathologist who embodies passion not only for achieving results but also for empathizing with our clients. You're that person who sees a shy child and envisions their ability to express themselves, who hears the fragmented speech of a stroke survivor and senses their determination to communicate.

Whether you are a pediatric-focused specialist looking to branch into adult therapies or a neuro-oriented clinician looking to integrate early intervention into your expertise, this is your opportunity.

If your heart is in serving and your skills are ready to lead, we can't wait to welcome you into our community.

Let's Find the Right Words - Together

If you believe that speech is more than mere sounds, and that therapy extends beyond tasks - if you cherish building trust before setting goals and value laughter alongside language - then this could be the next exciting chapter in your career narrative.

Join us in a neighborhood that celebrates communication, fosters connections, and embodies the courage it takes to begin anew. Apply today, and let your voice be heard while helping others discover theirs.
