Driver- CDL (B) Job Summary

A Driver-CDL (B) is responsible for safely operating a collection truck and providing prompt, courteous, and complete waste removal services for customers. The driver ensures compliance with the company's safety standards and adheres to all company, state, and federal regulations while operating the vehicle. Daily vehicle condition reports are completed to ensure timely repairs of any defects.

Principal responsibilities include :

• Performing complete pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle to ensure proper working order of tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls.
• Safely operating the heavy truck along the designated route and to the disposal site, following the route sheet, map, and servicing each customer as identified.
• Operating manual and / or automatic controls to lift and load refuse, operate compactor, and dispose of collected material at the designated facility.
• Interacting courteously with all customers, dispatchers, and others to ensure timely and professional service.
• Identifying unsatisfactory waste containers and tagging them in accordance with departmental procedures.
• Monitoring waste for evidence of unacceptable waste and cleaning areas around accidental waste spills.
• Continuously monitoring the condition of the vehicle to ensure it is operationally ready and cleaning waste from the packer blade and truck body.
• Completing required route / productivity sheets, vehicle condition reports, and other reports.
• Maintaining adherence to required productivity standards.
• Following all required safety policies and procedures.
• Participating in the company's ReSOP program.
• Performing other job-related duties as assigned.
• Demonstrating good customer service skills to meet and exceed customer expectations.
• Exhibiting good time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed efficiently and safely.
• Showing good follow-through ability and adhering to work schedules.
• Adhering to company policies and rules.
• Maintaining a feeling of pride in work and striving to achieve all goals.

Recycling and Waste

We continue to expand our recycling and waste business footprint throughout North America through organic growth and targeted acquisitions. The 13 million customers we serve and our more than 5 million pick-ups per day provide us with a distinct advantage. We aggregate materials at scale, unlocking new opportunities for advanced recycling. In addition, we are cross-selling new products and services to better meet our customers' specific needs.

Environmental Solutions

Our comprehensive environmental solutions capabilities help customers safely manage their most technical waste streams. We are expanding both our capabilities and our geographic footprint. We see strong growth opportunities for our offerings, including PFAS remediation, an increasing customer need.

Sustainability Innovation

Republic's recent innovations to advance circularity and decarbonization demonstrate our unique ability to leverage sustainability as a platform for growth. The Republic Services Polymer Center is the nation's first integrated plastics recycling facility. This innovative site processes rigid plastics from our recycling centers, producing recycled materials that promote true bottle-to-bottle circularity. We also formed Blue Polymers, a joint venture with Ravago, to develop facilities that will further process plastic material from our Polymer Centers to help meet the growing demand for sustainable packaging. We are building a network of Polymer Centers and Blue Polymer facilities across North America. We continue to advance decarbonization at our landfills. As demand for renewable energy continues to grow, we have 70 landfill gas-to-energy projects in operation and plan to expand our portfolio to 115 projects by 2028.
