Position Overview

The Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) will provide comprehensive medical services in the Emergency Department at the Quentin N. Burdick Memorial Healthcare Facility, serving patients of all ages with diverse medical, surgical, pediatric, geriatric, gynecological, and health maintenance needs. This is a non-personal services contract, meaning the provider operates as an independent contractor accountable to the contracting organization, not directly supervised by the federal government.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care Delivery

• Conduct patient interviews, physical examinations, and review medical histories.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to determine appropriate care plans.
• Provide diagnoses, develop treatment plans, prescribe medications in accordance with the IHS formulary, and refer patients as necessary.
• Offer direct medical care for acute and chronic conditions within the FNP scope of practice.
• Educate patients, families, and community members about health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment options.
• Recognize and respond to urgent and emergent patient conditions, including stabilization and resuscitative measures.
