Recreation Services Supervisor

The City of Henderson announces an examination to create an eligibility list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Recreation Services Supervisor in the Department of Parks and Recreation. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year. Under general supervision, directly supervises and coordinates various recreation programs, activities, and services within the Parks & Recreation Department; prepares and manages associated budgets and staffing plans; and performs related duties as assigned. This position will work some nights, weekend, and holidays as needed. The schedule may vary depending on the program season and the operational coverage needs.

Salary : $64,627.92 - $98,543.20 Annually.

Location : Henderson, NV.

Job Type : Full Time.

Minimum Qualifications :

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Parks and Recreation, Business Administration, Public Administration, Social Services, or a closely related field.
• Three (3) years of full-time work experience in the recreation field and / or experience developing, coordinating, planning, and implementing recreation programs, activities, services, or events for a government agency, including one (1) year in an administrative capacity and two (2) years in a supervisory role.
• Note : An equivalent combination of related training and experience may be considered.
• Possess and maintain a valid Nevada or "border state" driver's license, as defined by NRS 483.
• May be required to obtain and maintain various licenses and certifications within three (3) to six (6) months of hire based on assigned program area such as, but not limited to : First Aid and CPR, Southern Nevada Health District Food Handler Safety Training Card, Lifeguard / Lifeguard Instructor, national Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO).
• All required licenses and certificates, as mandated by State and Federal Laws or as required herein, must be obtained, and maintained at the incumbents' expense.
• Desirable Certifications : Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP), Certified Park and Recreation Executive (CPRE), Nevada Recreation and Park Society L.E.A.D Institute Certification.

Candidates must receive at least 70% (or higher) on their Scored Supplemental Question Assessment in order to be considered for the position.
