Position Overview
The Implementation Project Manager is responsible for partnering with the Director of Implementation—or working independently—to ensure the smooth onboarding of new accounts and the successful installation of expanded services for existing clients. This role involves cross-functional collaboration, project ownership, and managing both timelines and expectations throughout the implementation process.
What You’ll Do
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support internal and external teams to implement new Zelis accounts and / or products.
Manage project activities including schedules, resource allocation, and deliverables for assigned accounts.
Own internal and external communications, ensuring contractual obligations are met.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, technical requirements, routing rules, and customizations.
Provide timely status updates through Zelis systems and customized reports as needed.
Identify process improvements or develop new workflows aligned with strategic goals.
Work with Operations to transition new client setups.
Support Sales and Account Management from kickoff through post-production handoff.
Analyze new accounts and expansions as needed.
Develop and maintain standard project plans and documentation.
Operate independently on complex issues, partnering with the PMO and Operations as needed.
Coordinate with the EDI team to define and implement EDI workflows.
Liaise with adjudication partners during joint client implementations.
Ensure compliance with Zelis privacy standards.
Domestic travel up to 25%.
Provide subject matter expertise to other PMs and cross-functional teams.
Guide others through ambiguous situations toward concrete deliverables.
What You’ll Bring to Zelis
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in healthcare (preferred)
Proven expertise in Implementation or Account Management
Deep understanding of electronic claim processing and adjudication vendors
Strong project planning and execution skills
Experience partnering with IT for vendor onboarding and EDI interface creation
Highly organized across cross-functional initiatives
Familiarity with products / services within claims administration and healthcare software space
