Job description

San Francisco, California, United States; Seattle, Washington, United States

About the Role

As a Product Designer at Opendoor, you’ll collaborate with product managers, engineers, researchers, and other designers to craft digital experiences that simplify complex workflows and empower our customers. You’ll own projects from early discovery through polished execution, ensuring our products are both useful and delightful.

What You'll Do

Design end-to-end experiences across web and mobile platforms, from concept to launch.

Partner closely with product managers and engineers to translate business and customer needs into intuitive solutions.

Use customer insights, research, and data to inform design decisions and validate outcomes.

Contribute to Opendoor’s design system and uphold consistency, accessibility, and quality across experiences.

Present and explain design decisions clearly, building alignment across teams.

Collaborate with fellow designers, providing feedback and sharing best practices to raise the bar for design craft.

What You’ll Need

2–5 years of product / UX design experience with a portfolio showcasing thoughtful, customer‑facing work.

Strong interaction and visual design skills, with fluency in modern design tools (e.g., Figma).

A user‑centered mindset, with experience using research and data to guide design.

Ability to balance detail with big‑picture thinking and adapt to evolving priorities.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills—you can work fluidly with cross‑functional partners.

A passion for simplifying complex processes and a curiosity for real estate, marketplaces, or fintech.

Compensation

The base pay range for this position is $122,400‑153,000 annually, plus RSUs and bonuses. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on your qualifications, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. We also offer a comprehensive package of benefits including unlimited PTO, medical / dental / vision insurance, life insurance, and 401(k) to eligible employees.

About us… Powering life’s progress, one move at a time

Since 2014, we’ve been reinventing life’s most important transaction with a new, simple way to buy and sell a home. The traditional real estate process is broken, and our mission is clear : build a digital, end‑to‑end experience that makes buying and selling a home simple and certain.

We’re a team of problem solvers, innovators, and operators building the largest, most trusted platform for residential real estate. Whether it’s starting a family, taking a new job, or making a life change, we help people move forward with confidence.

This work isn’t easy, and it’s not for everyone. But if you want to be part of a team that’s tilting the world in favor of people who want to sell, buy, or own a home then you’ll find purpose here.

We believe that being open about who we are and what we do allows us to be better.
