The Preschool Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children. This position supports children’s social-emotional, physical, and cognitive growth through intentional planning, positive interactions, and hands-on learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities :
Classroom Environment & Safety :
- Maintain a clean, organized, and child-friendly classroom at all times.
- Ensure constant, active supervision of children; follow all health and safety regulations.
- Implement daily routines that support predictability, independence, and positive behavior.
Curriculum & Instruction :
Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with developmental milestones and program goals.Use a variety of learning strategies including play-based learning, small-group instruction, and hands-on activities.Support language, literacy, math, science, and social-emotional skills through intentional teaching.Child Development & Guidance :
Promote positive behavior using developmentally appropriate guidance techniques.Support inclusion by adapting activities and instruction to meet individual needs.Observe and assess children’s development; document progress through notes, portfolios, or assessments.Family Communication :
Build positive relationships with families through daily communication and ongoing updates.Conduct parent-teacher conferences as required.Maintain confidentiality of all child and family information.Professionalism & Team Collaboration :
Work collaboratively with co-teachers and staff to maintain a positive classroom climate.Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and training as required.Follow all center policies, licensing guidelines, and reporting procedures.Classroom Management & Daily Duties :
Prepare materials, set up learning centers, and assist with transitions.Assist with meals, toileting, handwashing, and other care routines as needed.Supervise outdoor play and ensure safe, engaging activities.Requirements :
45 Hours State Mandated Child Care Training Courses (This must be on Training Transcript).(Not Required but a +) CDA, Associate’s Degree, or higher in Early Childhood Education.CPR / First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.The position is Monday- Friday(required)-NO WEEKENDS. 40+ HOURS / FULL TIME POSITION.Must complete a Background Screening (Clearinghouse).
