Job Title : Invasive Lab Radiologic Technologist Profession : Tech Specialty : Radiology Duration : 20 weeks Shift : Day Hours per Shift : 10 hours Experience : Cardiac Cath Lab Experience, Interventional Radiology Experience License : IEMA Radiography License Illinois Certifications : BLS, ACLS, Radiography (R)(ARRT) Must-Have : - Associate's Degree in Related Field OR Certificate in Radiologic Technology Description : Administers contrast material according to physician's request. Performs venipuncture and places IV line as needed. Recognizes and responds to hypersensitivity or allergic reactions. Anticipates set-up and needs for invasive procedures. Assists with inventory and supplies. Checks for correct patient and chart identification, diagnosis, and treatment position. Compiles pertinent clinical information pertaining to lab, pathology, etc. Administers medication in compliance with scope of practice. Documents accurately and completely. Explains procedure to patient and provides for patient care including comfort, support, safety, and confidentiality. Performs all essential functions of the Invasive Lab Radiologic Technologist. Performs on-call duties and / or works variable shifts as assigned to meet department needs. Required to float to all procedural areas. Maintains a clean and neat work area. Demonstrates competence in the operation of imaging, physiological monitoring, and related equipment. Performs basic troubleshooting for this equipment. Able to work around and maintain a sterile field during procedures. Administers and withholds contrast and treatment as appropriate. Assesses patients for allergies. Functions as a scrub and monitor technician on a rotating basis during procedures. Assists physician during interventional procedures. Able to take call after six months of orientation.
