Responsibilities

Nursing is the protection, promotion, and optimization of health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response, and advocacy in the care of individuals, families, communities, and populations (ANA, 2010).

Garnet Health Medical Center clinical nurses are guided by the New York State Nurse Practice Act, the American Nurses Association (ANA) guide to the Code of Ethics for Nurses, the Essential Guide to Nursing Practice, Jean Watson's Nursing Philosophy and Science of Caring, the Garnet Health Medical Center Plan for Nursing Quality and Safety, and the Garnet Health Medical Center Nursing Strategic Plan (NSP). The compensation for the role is $56.23 per hr

1-year PCU or ED

When offered, eligible candidates for the GHMC ICU Fellowship Program are required to have 18 months Medical Surgical OR 1-year Medical Telemetry / Progressive Care experience

When offered, new graduated will be eligible for the GHMC ICU New Graduate Residency Program

TNCC

ACLS within 6 months

Basic Dysrhythmia class within 6 months.

TNCC within 2 years

Peritoneal Dialysis Training within 6 months of hire / transfer

Hospital Crisis Intervention Training Course upon hire or transfer and annually thereafter.
