Job Description :

The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) is seeking a dedicated Compensation and Pension (C&P) Physician to join our team in Reno, NV. The C&P Physician plays a crucial role in evaluating veterans' medical conditions to determine their eligibility for compensation and pension benefits.

Key Responsibilities :

Conduct thorough medical evaluations of veterans applying for compensation and pension benefits.
Review medical records, conduct physical examinations, and complete medical reports.
Provide detailed and accurate documentation of findings based on VA Disability Examination Worksheets.
Utilize the VA s electronic medical record system to document evaluations and submit reports.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive evaluations.
Participate in training and continuous education to stay updated on VA policies and procedures related to C&P examinations.

Qualifications :

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited institution.

Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or relevant specialty.

Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the United States.

Strong diagnostic skills and attention to detail.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Commitment to providing high-quality, veteran-centered care.

Preferred Experience :

Prior experience conducting C&P examinations or working in a similar evaluation role.

Familiarity with VA disability benefits and compensation processes.
