Job description

We’re seeking a seasoned Data Analytics expert to help shape the future of our data strategy. In this critical role, you’ll be responsible for strategizing, planning, building reliable data models, optimizing performance, and delivering impactful business insights through advanced analytics and dashboards for the future state. This is an opportunity to join a team driving innovation through data. We're looking for someone who has successfully played a role in an organization through building its future-state analytics environment while maintaining and enhancing existing systems to support day-to-day needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop reliable data models that power dashboards, scorecards, and self-service analytics across the business.
  • Optimize on-premise SQL Server database performance through advanced query tuning, index management, and execution plan analysis.
  • Write complex and optimized T-SQL queries to support both ad hoc and automated reporting needs.
  • Build and maintain robust Power BI solutions, including data modeling, DAX calculations, and interactive visualizations.
  • Partner with project managers, business analysts, stakeholders, and data scientists to transform data into actionable insights.
  • Develop and maintain documentation on data definitions, models, and transformations to support governance and data literacy.
  • Ensure analytics layer is aligned with source systems and ETL processes.
  • Perform data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency across reporting assets.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for reporting automation and efficiency improvements.

Qualifications

  • 8-12 years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or related roles.
  • Deep expertise in T-SQL , including performance tuning and working with large datasets.
  • Proven expertise in Power BI development, including DAX, Power Query (M), and semantic data modeling.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling (star / snowflake), and performance tuning.
  • Experience with ETL tools and / or data integration frameworks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to evolving project needs.
  • Experience with Azure Data Services (e.g., Synapse, Data Factory, SQL DB).
  • Familiarity with Python, R, or other scripting languages for data analysis.
  • Exposure to modern data tools (e.g., Databricks).
  • Background in statistics, business intelligence, or data visualization best practices.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Experience with version control (e.g., Git), CI / CD pipelines, or DevOps in a data environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
