About the Role
The Company is in search of a Chief Development Officer (CDO) to lead its fundraising efforts. The CDO will be responsible for prospect identification and cultivation, major gifts fundraising, donor stewardship, collaboration with the development team, and reporting and data management. The role requires a dynamic and results-oriented individual with a proven track record in major gifts fundraising, excellent relationship-building skills, and a passion for the organization's mission. The CDO will work closely with the Chief Development Officer and colleagues to align efforts, collaborate with program staff to understand funding needs, and participate in regional and national events. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred), at least 5 years' of major gifts fundraising experience, and a strong knowledge of fundraising best practices.
Key responsibilities for the Chief Development Officer include identifying and researching potential major gift prospects, developing cultivation strategies, and maintaining a robust pipeline of prospects. The role also involves executing major gift strategies to meet annual revenue goals, soliciting gifts through various means, and creating stewardship plans to deepen donor relationships. The candidate should be highly organized, with strong project management skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Extensive travel within the designated regions is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential, and experience with Raisers Edge and Office 365 is a plus. Knowledge of or experience with the Jewish community is also desirable.
