About the job you’re considering
Capgemini is seeking experienced software and cloud engineers to accelerate research computing initiatives. You will work closely with data scientists, software developers, and other platform teams to deliver scalable, secure, and efficient solutions for research workflows on cloud and High Performance Computing (HPC) environments for biotech and pharmaceutical applications.
Your role
Build and maintain HPC and cloud-based workflows
Migrate legacy HPC workflows to Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Develop and optimize CI / CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
Implement infrastructure-as-code practices (Terraform)
Collaborate to address gaps in permission management, data access, workflow execution, and automation
Develop engineering standards & best practices via standard containers, library development, cookie-cutter repos, workflow templates, CI / CD pipelines
Promote reproducibility and maintainability across research codebases
Ad-Hoc engineering support for scientists in the UK and US East Cost time zones
Provide hands-on assistance for scientists with complex integrations and troubleshooting
Your skills and experience
7 years experience developing cloud solutions for biotech / biopharma research or other specialized industries
Demonstrated expertise with Google Cloud Platform (BigTable, BigQuery, Cloud Run)
Experience with HPC workflows and HPC-to-cloud migrations
Proficiency in Nextflow pipelines and cloud deployments
Strong DevOps skills with proficiency in containerization, CI / CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code using Terraform
Advanced Python and shell scripting experience
Familiarity with big data tools (BigQuery optimization a plus)
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Familiarity with Java preferred
