Summary / Objective
The Material Handler is responsible for storing moving and managing materials used in production.
This position tracks stock documents orders and stores materials as well as pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on work orders.
Essential Functions
Coordinates and issues shop work orders from ERP system to meet production schedules and coordinates activities with other departments as necessary.Identifies and expedites action on items behind schedule to assist in preventing production delays.Ensures orderly production and distribution of products by pulling order from inventory delivering production materials and supplies where needed and staging finished product for final distribution.Complete Inventory Transactions within the ERP system in a timely manner.Analyzes material shortages preventing work order material fulfillment and engages the appropriate person(s).Confer with department coordinators leads or other personnel to determine if any expedited activities are required.Conveys purchasing requirements and keeping data on the availability of products in short supplyPerforming inventory cycle counts.Receiving of materials from outside Vendors / Suppliers.Evaluates packaging and notes any damage on the packing slip and / or freight BOL.Reviews the received item to ensure it matches the packing slip.Coordinates with saw shop personnel to place raw materials in appropriate location.Receive into the ERP system.Place in the appropriate location ensuring correct location in ERP and rotation of stock by date.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.Educations and Experience
High School Diploma GED and / or Technical School Graduate or industry-recognized certification.2 years of experience in a manufacturing position or related experience.Skills and Competencies
Knowledge of Epicor ERP system strongly preferredKnowledge of Bill of MaterialsData entry math and computer skillsHighly organized with strong prioritization skillsStrong problem-solving skillsExcellent communication skills written and oralAbility to perform detailed tasks with accuracySelf-motivated; ability to work independentlyAbility to exercise sound and independent judgmentLean manufacturing and / or continuous improvement background desirableWork Environment
While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
