The functions of the Base Maintenance Support Manager are accountable for all aspects of aircraft materials and spares management at all external maintenance base facilities to meet business requirements.
The Base Maintenance Support Manager will be responsible for leading the Material Specialist team ensuring that the appropriate materials and spares are made available to maintenance checks indirectly supporting on time aircraft redelivery at reasonable logistics cost.
This position is also responsible for leading the Tech Records Team and ensuring all required regulatory compliance aircraft tech records and material transactions are entered and validated into the MIS TRAX, and then archived in accordance with the CASA regulations.
Reporting to the Manager External Maintenance Base (SIN), your main accountabilities will include :
Safety and compliance
- Accountable for implementing Jetstar Safety Standards including safety of personnel at all locations.
- Accountable for regulatory compliance and ensuring all mandatory training are completed.
Operational Support
Accountable to meet or exceed all departmental goalsAccountable in ensuring Material Specialists and Tech Records Officers are trained and assessed for competenceDevelop and implement material support enhancement strategies to achieve the best outcome for the department. When required liaise with the Commercial Team and source for alternate options of material supplier and freight to ensure best outcome for the business is achievedResponsible in ensuring material requisitions and transfer orders are actioned promptly at all external MRO locations.Minimise deferrals out of Heavy Maintenance checks by ensuring appropriate spares are procured in advance and held at SINDC and all external MRO locations.Perform random checks and ensure Purchase Orders meet Financial Delegation responsibility and requirements and other duties as directed by the department managerPOC for International regulatory issues for JQ and USA Gov (BIS) and other external data interfaces including freight providers.Manage executed Heavy Maintenance contractual strategy with regards to materials and freight through various streams. Work closely with Cross-Functional Teams, providing regular updates to the stakeholders and Engineering senior management.Foster effective communication and collaboration ensuring the department is a customer facing team that is trusted amongst the Engineering department.Responsible for monitoring Tech Records error trending and implement preventative actions.Acquire Tech Records knowledge, develop and execute strategics plan for regulatory compliance.Cost
Responsible for Freight cost control and supplier contract management through a process of Vendor Management Meetings (supplier Performance Meetings) with correlating vendor KPIs.Manage material procurement process to ensure the lowest cost possible for the business.Materials and Logistics Support Program Continuous Improvement
Accountable for updating the business procedure manuals such as Interface Procedure User Guides with the suppliers.Accountable for material consumption analysis and stock holdings to ensure appropriate spares are located at MRO facility in order to support planned work.Continuously review contracts, providers and interface processes to ensure lowest cost and synergised operations where possible.Be a Safety LeaderDemonstrate commitment and leadership to OHS by participating in meetings, inspections, promotions and other appropriate activities Encourage and promote the involvement of all employees in achieving a safe and healthy workplace.Act with due care / consideration to safeguard own and team members health and safety, and that of others.Ensure compliance with safe working practice.Be fully conversant with and manage strict adherence to Group policy and procedures relating to contracts, legal obligations, standards of conduct, and remain compliant with Group Ethics and Standards.MRO Logistics and Materials Reporting
Responsible to develop C-check material consumption database and publish external maintenance quarterly materials consumption report.Provide adequate reporting of material procurement spend and inventory holdings to Manager External Maintenance Base.Develop freight cost analysis per event and publish monthly.Leadership Responsibilities and People
