Description :
Travelers should be aware of the expectations related to emergency events.
Upon accepting an assignment, the unit manager may assign members to an "Emergency Team."
There will be an expectation to stay until the emergency event passes or be part of the relief team.
Specific pay details for each emergency event will be shared as they vary.
Travelers should only apply if they are comfortable with these expectations.
Responsibilities include conducting evaluations and assessments.
Providing bedside swallow evaluations and compensatory strategies.
Conducting modified barium swallow studies and interpreting results.
Implementing techniques for swallowing difficulties, including dysphagia management.
Using techniques such as hyolaryngeal exercises and modifying diet orders.
Educating patients and families on their conditions and care plans.
Creating and executing individualized plans of care.
Successful candidates should have experience in acute care settings.
Skills in managing patients with various conditions, including CVA and TBI, are essential.
Experience with charting systems, especially electronic medical records, is required.
Patients will include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics, with a daily census of around 50.
Knowledge of interdisciplinary support services, including respiratory and radiology, is preferred.
Travelers must meet the minimum experience requirements.
Compliance with a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy is required.
Flu vaccination is also required with no exemptions allowed.
Candidates must have relevant certifications in hand upon submission.
References will be required for clearance to start the contract.
Travelers who have worked as permanent staff must be separated for one full year before returning.
Modules completed during the orientation will count towards orientation hours.
