Position Summary :
The Texas Rising Star (TRS) Assessor II plays a vital role in ensuring the quality and continuous improvement of early learning programs across the 13-county Houston-Galveston region. This position is primarily responsible for conducting reliable, standards-based assessments of early learning programs using the Texas Rising Star assessment tools. As a TRS Assessor II, you will gather and analyze program and classroom observation data, follow established assessment protocols, and maintain accurate records by entering data into an online system. You will evaluate both currently certified Texas Rising Star providers and those seeking certification, using official Notetaking Forms and Facility / Classroom Assessment Forms to ensure consistency and integrity in evaluations. Additionally, you will coordinate and execute all TRS assessment activities as part of the broader Child Care Services (CCS) Program, contributing to the overall goal of elevating early childhood education standards in the region.

Certification / Skills :
Basic knowledge of standard Office Software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required.
Minimum Education :
Bachelor's degree in a related field with three (3) years of related research experience including experience in a lead research role; or Master's degree in a related field with one (1) year of related research experience including experience in a lead research role; or Doctorate degree.
Minimum Experience :
Years of experience varies based on the education level
Physical Requirements :
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and / or up to 10 pounds frequently and / or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
Security Sensitive :
This position is a security-sensitive position pursuant to Texas Education Code §51.215 and Texas Government Code §411.094. To the extent that a position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Texas Business and Commerce Code §117.001(2), the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired for and to continue to be employed in that position.
