Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details

Location : Plattsburgh, NY 12901 (New York healthcare jobs)

Setting : Cardiac Stepdown / Intermediate Care Unit (IMC)

Employment Type : Travel Nursing Contract

Assignment Duration : Up to 16 weeks, with potential extension

Start Date : December 15, 2025

End Date : April 6, 2026

Hours per Week : 36 (3x12-hour night shifts, 19 : 00 - 07 : 30)

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $2160–$2210

Holiday Coverage : Must be available to work at least 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas / Christmas Eve, New Year's Day / Eve)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) license or proof of application

Minimum 1 year of recent cardiac stepdown or telemetry nursing experience

Epic EMR experience within the last 2 years (required)

Current AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (NIHSS required prior to start)

Proficient in insulin drips, cardiac drips, IV starts, and post-cardiac catheterization care

Previous travel nursing experience required (no first-time travelers)

COVID-19 vaccination required (no exemptions)

Flu vaccination required (medical / religious exemptions only)

Reliable personal transportation required; public transportation not available

Vehicle must have all-season or snow tires November–April

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Cardiac Stepdown / IMC unit

Float to other hospital units as needed, adapting to changing patient care demands

Monitor and manage cardiac drips, insulin drips, start IVs, and deliver post-cardiac cath care

Accurately document patient care using Epic EMR

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes

Work every other weekend and adjust schedule as needed for unit coverage

Maintain compliance with hospital policies and timely documentation requirements
