Summary of Position

The Pharmacy Technician assists in the preparation and distribution of medications, maintains inventory, and ensures accurate patient and pharmacy records in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Reports To : Pharmacy Operations Supervisor

Department : Pharmacy

Environment : Hospital-based, acute care

Qualifications

Education :

Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician program or equivalent experience.

Experience :

Preferred : 1 year of RECENT experience in an acute care pharmacy setting.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities :

Computer proficiency for medication profiles and pharmacy systems.

Knowledge of USP

aseptic compounding preferred.

Strong organization, communication, and teamwork skills.

Licensure / Certification :

California Pharmacy Technician License (active and clear)

CPhT certification preferred or must be obtained within 1 year of hire.

BLS (AHA) required.
