Job Title : Head of Accounting and FP&A

Location : On-site Downtown Boston, MA

Position Type : Full-time – Exempt- 50 hours / week

Total Compensation : $230K - $300K + Equity + Full Benefit Package (Day one)

Role Overview

Flexcar is seeking a highly driven and hands‑on team player, who will be the everyday lead of the Accounting and FP&A functions. They will ensure accurate financial reporting, robust internal controls, and scalable systems to support rapid expansion. This role will work closely with the VP of Finance and senior leadership team to ensure compliance and provide insights that drive smarter business decisions. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in both technical / operational accounting and financial analysis, thrives in high‑growth, dynamic environments, and is motivated to build a function that blends financial rigor with operational insight.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Accounting Leadership

• Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, monthly close, revenue recognition, accounts payable / receivable, and fixed assets
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, state and local tax requirements, and internal control frameworks
• Lead the preparation of consolidated financial statements and audit coordination with external auditors
• Implement scalable accounting policies, processes, and systems (e.g., NetSuite, expense management, reporting automation)
