At East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma, we prepare students for tomorrow’s world through a dynamic and diverse learning experience. The Position :
The English and Languages Department in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at East Central University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor of English to begin August of 2024. Areas of specialization may include but are not limited to composition and rhetoric, literature, secondary English methods, grammar and linguistics, and creative writing.
The successful candidate should be able to teach general education courses in English and the humanities— as well as occasional courses in an area of specialization within the major. An established commitment to teaching excellence and an ability to assist the department with a range of duties are essential, including the support of our English and English Teacher Certification majors, as well as our Humanities minor.
Responsibilities will include teaching English and Humanities courses as assigned. Teaching assignments will be primarily in first-year composition courses, as well as upper-division courses that support our English and English Teacher Certification majors. Faculty working with English Teacher Certification students may be required to observe student teachers at area schools, as well as collaborate with Education faculty.

Qualifications :
An earned Doctorate in English, Education, or related field is preferred. ABD required. College teaching and advising experience is preferred.
