Director of Shipping & Receiving – Food Manufacturing

Are you a logistics leader with a passion for operational excellence and food safety compliance? A rapidly growing food manufacturer in Upstate New York is seeking a Director of Shipping & Receiving to drive performance across warehousing, inventory control, and inbound / outbound logistics.

This is a critical leadership role that ensures accurate product flow, traceability, and on-time performance that supports both production and customer success.

What You’ll Do

Lead daily logistics operations : warehousing, shipping & receiving, and inventory management

Ensure timely shipment of finished goods and receipt of raw materials and supplies

Improve delivery performance, documentation, and food safety compliance

Build and mentor a high-performing logistics team with a strong safety culture

Partner with Production, Quality, and Procurement to enhance operational effectiveness

Maintain compliance with FDA, USDA, FSMA, HACCP, SQF, and GMP standards

Manage carrier relationships, negotiate freight terms, and resolve logistics challenges

Optimize warehouse layout, material flow, and leverage WMS / ERP systems

Track KPIs such as inventory accuracy, freight cost, and on-time delivery

Lead process improvement initiatives to reduce cost and support growth

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business

7–10+ years logistics / warehouse leadership in a manufacturing environment

Food or refrigerated facility experience

Expertise in food safety compliance and regulatory requirements

ERP / WMS proficiency (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite or similar)

Strong communication and team development skills

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume facility
