Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

Location : Clinton, Maryland 20735

Assignment Length : 13-week travel nursing contract

Start Date : November 17, 2025

Shift : 3x12-hour night shifts (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 30 AM)

Hours per Week : 36

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1890 - $2030

Call Requirement : 36 hours over 6 weeks (on premises within 45 minutes of call)

Weekend / Holiday Coverage : Every other weekend / holiday as needed

Float Requirement : Required to float to similar units (e.g., Mom / Baby) before permanent staff

Scrubs Provided

Charting System : Cerner EMR

Labor & Delivery RN Qualifications

Active RN license in Maryland or compact state (required for Maryland nursing jobs)

Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (high-risk L&D required)

At least 1 prior travel nurse assignment

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, STABLE

Must register for C-EFM during compliance phase or within first two weeks (C-EFM through NCC preferred)

Previous charge nurse experience required

Two supervisor references required

Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)

Ability to float to similar units as needed

Must be able to circulate, perform fetal heart monitoring (FHM), and preceptor and / or charge duties

Triage experience preferred

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in a high-acuity clinical setting

Assist with high-risk deliveries and C-sections, including circulating in the operating room (OR)

Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate patterns; respond promptly to abnormal findings

Perform triage of obstetrical patients and manage high-risk antepartum cases

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Float to related units such as Mom / Baby as needed

Participate in self-scheduling and provide coverage for weekends and holidays as required

Maintain accurate patient documentation using Cerner EMR

Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
