About the Position
The IT Infrastructure Manager manages and directs staff performing infrastructure systems administration and / or analysis. This position oversees the design, acquisition, installation, relocation, repair, maintenance, accountability and control of all infrastructure, voice, wireless, data network, and video communications for the Sheriff's Office. The Manager participates in strategic planning for the department, establishes goals for the division, and develops and manages staff performance.

Education
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Experience
Six (6) years of experience managing and implementing IT infrastructure systems, which includes two (2) years of IT supervisory or management experience.Combined education and experience qualifications

Directs the construction, installation, maintenance, operation, and performance management / measures of complex IT infrastructure systems and related support items.Provides technical expertise and advises management on voice, data, wireless, video, and 911 support and related networking requirements.Develops, implements, and maintains standards, policies and procedures for installing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining infrastructure, telecommunications, and video equipment.Builds effective working relationships with customers and vendors and consults on service delivery needs; ensures that timely and courteous customer service is provided.Researches, reviews, and recommends state-of-the art infrastructure, telecommunication, video, and network systems to fulfill business requirements.Supervises staff including hiring, training, coaching, disciplining, and evaluating performance.Assesses staff and develops training plans to ensure skills stay current with technology requirements for current and future work assignments.Fulfills departmental requirements for providing work coverage and administrative notification during personnel absences.Promotes efficient, cost-effective uses of advanced technologies.Collects and reports complex data for departmental statistics.Participates in or leads teams in development of requests for proposals, evaluating bid responses, selecting infrastructure and telecommunications vendors; monitors contract performance after implementation.Participates in department disaster recovery planning and systems security administration.Develops and prioritizes budget issues for submission during the annual budget cycle; manages operating budget for the division.Represents the Sheriff’s Office on various County, justice and law enforcement committees and workgroups.Working Conditions
