- Required : CA License BLS (AHA or ARC) Flu Vaccination (no declination / no exemptions) 1 year of experience in an outpatient / ambulatory setting Proficiency with blood draws and IV starts Strongly Preferred : Epic experience 1+ years of experience in endocrinology BSN Job Duties : Inbasket work - address patient concerns, messages, and calls for physicians who are OOO. Escalate as needed to the MD's. General diabetes education, diet, hypoglycemia, and hyperglycemia teaching Insulin teaching and administration, CGM (continuous glucose monitor) application, and teaching If possible, can review CGM glycemic reports and insulin pump reports, make initial suggestions (up to the RN and MD's comfort) Steroids teaching, Solumedrol teaching Administer vaccines Coordinate and progress completion of monitoring for diabetes complications (including vaccinations, retinal exams, foot exams, etc.) Administer cosyntropin stimulation test Fill in for rooming patients, MA duties as needed Recruiting Notes : Position / Specialty : Outpatient RN First-timers accepted : Yes Weekend REQ : No On-call REQ?
