About Beechwood
At Beechwood Health & Rehabilitation Center, we provide our residents with a full range of skilled nursing and rehabilitative services. We treat and support their needs in a safe, compassionate environment that fosters independence and dignity. We are currently looking to fill our dietary aide position with an individual who works to ensure residents maintain a healthy diet. The primary responsibilities include assisting in all aspects of food service assembly, ensuring all dishes adhere to a particular menu, and maintaining health and sanitization standards.
Job Responsibilities
1. Serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
2. Complete set up of resident meals trays according to specified diets (napkins, place mats, silverware, glassware, and appropriate condiment for breakfast, lunch or dinner).
3. Assist in serving meals as necessary and on a timely basis.
4. Arrive to work in uniform. Neat and clean appearance.
5. Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures.
6. Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
7. Must breakdown all trays and items on trays by putting through dish machine, putting items away in appropriate places, and restock machine with appropriate chemicals.
8. Must take out all trash cans after each meal, sweep, mop, and sanitize work areas according to checklists or as deemed appropriate by the supervisor or cook.
9. Clean work tables, meat blocks, refrigerators / freezers, etc.
10. Sweep and mop floors as directed.
11. Carry soiled utensils, etc., to wash area.
12. Return clean utensils to proper storage areas.
13. Keep work areas clean, dry and free of hazardous equipment, supplies, etc.
14. Set up meal trays, food carts, dining room, etc., as instructed.
15. Assist cook in preparing meals.
16. Distribute and collect menus as necessary.
17. Assist in checking diet trays before distribution.
18. Deliver food carts, trays, etc., to designated areas.
19. Serve food in dining room as instructed.
20. Assure that utensils, etc., are readily available for next meal.
21. Prepare and deliver snacks, etc., as instructed.
Safety and Sanitation
1. Follow safety regulations and precautions at all times.
2. Follow established Infection Control and Universal Precautions policies and procedures when performing daily tasks.
3. Prepare food, etc., in accordance with sanitary regulations as well as with our established policies and procedures. (ex. Gloves and hairnets).
4. Must take out all trash cans after each meal, sweep, mop, and sanitize work areas according to checklists or as deemed appropriate by the supervisor or cook.
5. Dispose of food and waste in accordance with established policies and procedures.
6. Report all hazardous conditions / equipment to your Food Service Director or Supervisor immediately.
7. Report all accidents / incidents to your Food Service Director / supervisor on the shift in which they occur.
8. Report all hazardous conditions / equipment to your supervisor immediately.
9. Wear protective clothing and equipment when handling infectious waste and / or blood / body fluids.
10. Report missing / illegible labels or MSDS to your Food Service Director / supervisor.
11. Make only authorized food substitutions.
Resident Rights
1. Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information.
2. Knock before entering a resident’s room.
3. Report complaints to the Director of Food Services.
