Job Title : Registered Nurse Profession : Nursing Specialty : Progressive Care Unit Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Night Hours per Shift : 12 hours (19 : 00 - 07 : 30) Experience : Minimum of 1 prior travel assignment required License : DC RN licensure required (pending licenses accepted) Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have : - Must provide proof of pending status at the time of submission. - Must have DC license in hand prior to start date. - COVID-19 - all travelers must be able and willing to accept assignments that may include COVID-19 patients. Description : This position requires an RN to provide care for admitted patients with varying diagnoses. Patients will be boarding in the emergency department while awaiting bed placement on an inpatient unit. The RN will assume responsibility for the management of patient care. The expected patient ratio is 1 : 4-5. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend. RNs may be required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity. Key skills include telemetry, IV therapy, and the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. Experience in feeding tube care and pre / post hemodialysis management is preferred. Knowledge of infection control and isolation precautions is essential. Interdisciplinary support will include physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. The RN will work in an environment that supports various patient age groups, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. All RNs must be adaptable to changing clinical priorities and demonstrate excellent communication skills.
