Description :

As a Sous Chef at SLS Hotels in the Van Nuys area you will play a vital role in our culinary team. We are seeking an experienced and talented Sous Chef to assist the Executive Chef in managing our kitchen operations. The successful candidate will have a passion for the culinary arts and be responsible for helping plan and direct food preparation supervising kitchen staff and managing inventory.

Responsibilities :

  • Assist the Executive Chef in managing all aspects of food preparation and cooking
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure high-quality food production
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create innovative and exciting menu items
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Monitor food inventory and order supplies when needed
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment

Requirements :

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a fast-paced kitchen
  • Excellent knowledge of culinary arts and cooking techniques
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience
