What are Trust Fund Positions?
Trust Fund positions are unique to the Smithsonian. They are paid for from a variety of sources, including the Smithsonian endowment, revenue from our business activities, donations, grants and contracts. Trust employees are not part of the civil service, nor does trust fund employment lead to Federal status. The salary ranges for trust positions are generally the same as for federal positions and in many cases trust and federal employees work side by side. This position is located organizationally in Office of Digital and Innovation (ODI), Office of the Deputy Secretary, Smithsonian Institution (SI).

ODI works centrally and within Smithsonian units to unlock the full potential of our collections and resources, better understand and serve our audiences, and pioneer innovative approaches to accelerate and scale our impact—all while empowering staff across the Smithsonian with the tools and skills they need to success in and ever-changing digital world.
This position is assigned responsibility for managing a portfolio of courses and learning programs related to digital tools and capabilities that support a digital ecosystem.
