Overview
Sr. Backup Administrator role at KPMG US. KPMG is seeking a Sr. Backup Administrator to join our Digital Nexus technology organization. This is a hybrid work opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate customer needs based on application requirements, current capacity and growth trends; deliver engineering specifications, assist with functional specifications, and collaborate on technical design and specifications for projects and initiatives
- Analyze, design, test, document, and implement solutions for continuous data availability, integrity, backup and protection.
- Provide technical services for customers in a highly complex backup environments, and assess technical impact to the project or new technology along with technical risks
- Resolve complex problems with little or no guidance; research independently, and promote specialized technical solutions
- Design and implement new data protection solutions, manage change, and add backup policies in a large-scale, mission-critical, multi-PB storage environment
- Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
- Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment
Qualifications
Minimum three years of recent experience in backup engineering in an IT environment with knowledge of Rubrik, StorageGrid, Symantec NetBackup and DataDomain, as well as overall backup technologiesBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferredKnowledge of storage solutions from EMC, NetApp, Pure and similar technologiesBackground in enterprise data protection, management and protection solutions; experience with Enterprise data protection and disaster recovery solutions, and understanding of Enterprise application data management requirementsDemonstrated ability to work under pressure and in environments dealing with ambiguity; strong organizational skills are necessaryExcellent planning, interpersonal, problem solving, leadership skills; strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills; active listening skillsApplicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the futureSeniority level
