Job description

Transform Lives Through Communication in Dynamic Dallas - Become a Speech Language Pathologist with Us!

Overview

Imagine a career that doesn't just represent a job, but a profound purpose - a chance to truly make a difference. As a Speech Language Pathologist in one of Texas's bustling urban hubs, you'll embark on a journey that goes beyond helping individuals navigate communication challenges. You'll have the power to ignite aspirations, rekindle self-esteem, and forge connections - helping children articulate their first words to assisting seniors in reclaiming their voices.

This position allows you to make your mark across a diverse age spectrum in an engaging environment that combines outpatient therapy with intermittent inpatient responsibilities. Whether your passion lies in nurturing young speech skills, rehabilitating adults with neurological communication impairments, or supporting older adults in cognitive-linguistic therapy, you'll encounter both satisfaction and adaptability in this role.

Description

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of clients from pediatric through geriatric age groups using standardized tests and observational techniques to gather crucial data.
  • Craft individualized treatment strategies that focus on both short and long-term objectives tailored to enhance communication, cognitive abilities, or swallowing functions.
  • Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions accentuating communication, language skills, fluency, voice, and swallowing therapy.
  • Engage with fellow healthcare professionals including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and families to develop synergistic care plans.
  • Provide educational resources for patients and their families to encourage skill development beyond therapy sessions.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions to maintain a seamless continuum of care.
  • Ensure timely and precise documentation in accordance with organizational, state, and federal mandates.
  • Remain updated with contemporary practices in the field through continuous education and collaboration with peers.

Education

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
  • Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those not yet certified by ASHA.
  • Certifications

  • Active state license as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of employment commencement.
  • Skills

  • Expertise in evidence-informed treatment strategies across all age groups, with a solid knowledge of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing challenges.
  • Outstanding communication abilities with patients, their families, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Capacity to modify therapeutic techniques to cater to a variety of cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Strong clinical judgment combined with effective problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and compliance standards.
  • Benefits

  • Attractive compensation reflective of professional experience.
  • Flexible scheduling options that support a healthy work-life balance along with diverse patient cases.
  • Pathways to focus your practice on pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday compensation.
  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage options.
  • Support for continuing education and opportunities for professional development.
  • A collaborative environment centered on high-quality care and ongoing learning.
  • A Journey That Moves with You

In this role, your work will transcend traditional speech therapy as you become part of a shared mission to amplify voices, strengthen connections, and create moments of joy through the fundamental acts of understanding and communication.

You'll join a close-knit team of clinicians who foster family-like relationships, in a workplace that prioritizes collaborative spirit over competition. Every person you work with has a unique narrative, and we will entrust you with the role of helping to shape their storytelling.

Experience the bustling nightlife, with live music venues and art festivals that bring charm and community spirit alive throughout the city.

With no state income tax, an affordable cost of living, and a thriving healthcare landscape, Dallas offers a unique environment where your professional ambitions can flourish alongside an enriched personal life.

If you are embarking on your career or have years of experience under your belt, this setting provides a nurturing backdrop for growth in every sense.

    Who We Seek

We are on the lookout for a talented Speech Language Pathologist , motivated by genuine empathy as well as clinical outcomes. You might see a reserved child and envision their joyful self-expression in the future, or hear a post-stroke patient's hesitant speech and recognize their spirit of resilience.

You could be a pediatric expert eager to branch out into adult services - or perhaps a neuro-focused therapist looking to integrate early intervention techniques into your practice.

Regardless of your special interests, if you're prepared to serve with compassion and expertise, we welcome you with open arms.

    Let's Craft a Better Tomorrow - Together

If you believe communication is more than mere words, and therapy transcends tasks - if fostering trust and seeing laughter in the therapeutic journey resonates with you - then this opportunity could mark a pivotal chapter in your career narrative.

Join us in a community that celebrates the power of communication, connection, and the courage to advocate for those on the road to rediscovery. Apply today and add your voice to our team as we help others find theirs.
