Plans and coordinates interventions and consultations. Procedures and treatments provided in the Emergency Department include moderate and deep sedation, ultrasound, intubation, cardioversion, D&C, sexual assault exams, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and imminent deliveries. Patient population includes trauma, acute stroke, STEMI, psychosis or psychological emergencies, and sepsis. Patients frequently present with a history of alcohol or drug abuse or complex medical histories. A charge nurse experience is preferred. Experience in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center is required. Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of recent travel experience. Weekend coverage is required. Candidates will float within the hospital. Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary. A successful candidate will demonstrate skills in acute psychosis, blood product administration, central line care and management, chest tube insertion and management, and more. Completion of compliance documentation is necessary prior to starting. Reference checks will be completed as part of the application process.
