Description :

The Emergency Department consists of a secure locked psychiatric area for holding patients.

There are 25 procedure rooms and 8 hallway beds utilized 24 / 7.

The department has a combined staff of 88 individuals with various job titles.

Patient ratios are 4 : 1 with flexibility during acute surges.

Essential equipment includes ultrasound, IV skills, a Lucas device, and infusion pumps.

Patient population may include individuals with multiple comorbidities and complicated heart conditions, as well as cases of DKA, sepsis, trauma, and stroke.

Candidates should possess strong adaptability, communication, and assessment skills.

Critical thinking and a solid understanding of medical terminology are also necessary.

Preferred qualifications include at least one year of emergency department experience and familiarity with EKG interpretation.

Typical procedures performed include trauma care, stroke care, laceration repair, orthopedic trauma, and psychiatric care.

The ideal candidate is a motivated hard worker, creative problem solver, and has a general desire to help and care for patients.

RN's will work with policy-written protocols based on chief complaints.

They will be able to order complete works up including labs, EKGs, x-rays, and medications per protocol to initiate patient care.

Candidates should expect to work every other weekend.
