Job Summary and Responsibilities

A CommonSpirit Health Nurse Resident is a new graduate direct clinical care registered nurse (RN) who continues to develop nursing knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors introduced in formal education as they transition into

practice. They are expected to demonstrate the appropriate competency in both core and functional areas, listed below.

Progression is expected in the areas of leading through mission vision and values, patient / customer focus, taking ownership, health care knowledge, teamwork, clinical performance improvement, service excellence, decision making

and critical thinking, and patient safety.

This role provides an opportunity to develop foundational skills and contribute to exceptional patient care within a collaborative healthcare environment. You will be responsible for :

• Patient-Centered Care : Applying evidence-based practices, the nursing process, and critical thinking to deliver holistic care to patients across the lifespan. This includes learning to assess patient needs, implement care plans, and monitor patient progress.
• Interprofessional Collaboration : Collaborating and communicating effectively with the interprofessional team to ensure seamless patient care delivery and optimal patient outcomes. This involves active participation in team discussions and a commitment to shared decision-making.
• Professional Development & Accountability : Taking ownership of your practice, delegated tasks, and the coordination of patient care. This includes actively seeking opportunities to expand your nursing knowledge, maintaining professional standards, and demonstrating accountability for your actions.
