Position Summary : The Director of Climate & Culture serves as a lead administrator responsible for fostering a positive safe and inclusive learning environment while aligning attendance and engagement practices with district and state priorities. The Director of Climate & Culture serves as lead administrator responsible for schoolwide attendance engagement and culture ensuring systems are in place to improve daily attendance reduce chronic absenteeism and promote a safe supportive learning environment that fosters student belonging and success at the high school. The Director of Climate & Culture serves as a core member of the high school administrative team providing leadership in student attendance engagement and school operations and collaborating with the Principal to ensure a positive productive and equitable learning environment. Priority Leadership Areas : Attendance & Chronic Absenteeism Leadership : Oversee all attendance systems data monitoring interventions and chronic absenteeism reduction efforts Court Liaison : Serve as school liaison to Truancy Court ensuring compliance communication and family re-engagement Integration : Align attendance and engagement interventions with the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Response to Intervention (RTI) & Community Engagement : Build authentic partnerships with families and community organizations to remove barriers to attendance and promote student -School & Extended Learning Oversight : Supervise all after-school and club programming including scheduling staffing budgeting and -Level Leadership (9th Grade) : Serve as one of the administrators for 9th-12th grade overseeing student progress attendance discipline and with teachers counselors and families to support a successful transition to high school and maintain a positive supportive school Safety & Climate : Lead day-to-day building supervision crisis response and initiatives that promote a safe orderly and inclusive school Responsibilities : Increase student attendance including participating in an attendance committee to continue to improve overall student attendance as well as serve as the school liaison for Truancy schoolwide attendance rates and chronic absenteeism metrics to ensure alignment with district attendance goals and lead the development of improvement plans when targets are not met. Supervise the reporting and monitoring of all student attendance and work with the Attendance Officer / stakeholders for investigative follow-up actions. Coordinate with district attendance teams social service agencies and community partners to address barriers to attendance and implement tiered and refine school-based after school programs to build engagement in the high school community and coordinate community service established onboarding procedures for all new students and families who enroll at closely with the AP of Academic Supports to ensure alignment between attendance interventions and the schools Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).Lead the design and implementation of the schools Attendance Framework ensuring compliance with district state (RIDE) and federal guidelines and collaborating with the AP of Academic Supports to ensure attendance interventions align with the schools MTSS with guidance counselors instructional leaders and teachers to connect attendance interventions with academic achievement and credit attainment. Analyze student attendance data to understand the areas of need and to develop systems and structures (incentive systems school-wide procedures professional development for teachers) to target reductions of specific attendance tiered attendance interventions and supports that complement the MTSS process ensuring early identification consistent follow-up and collaboration with the AP of Academic and Student Support frequent walkthroughs throughout the school and serve as a highly visible as the Truancy Court Liaison for high school collaborating with Attendance Officer district and court partners to ensure proper documentation family engagement and re-entry and work with the District Attendance Team (Attendance Officer / Chief of Equity and Empowerment) in regular attendance and engagement data report meetings identifying trends and recommending improvement regular attendance and engagement reports to school and district leadership teams to identify trends and recommend improvement with diverse community groups in articulating the vision of the school in supporting the success of all as a role model for students and staff by demonstrating integrity and fairness and by developing a caring school as liaison between the school and parents (caregivers) community organizations and / or school police and law enforcement authorities by providing updates on student attendance authentic collaboration with families by responding to the diverse social and linguistic needs of the community and advancing educational objectives and student student academic needs and supports with either school-day or OST supplemental services. Convene educators students leaders and parents to be a unified holistic support team working in collaboration to address students academic social and emotional after-school club program budgets staffing approvals scheduling and compliance with funding and reporting requirements to ensure alignment with district and state as an administrator for grades 912 supporting day-to-day school operations supervision and student building supervision throughout the school day at arrival / dismissal and during lunch and transitions to ensure a safe orderly and positive crisis response and student safety in coordination with administration ensuring appropriate communication documentation and and participate in additional after-school meetings professional development and other events as necessary including building administration the roll-out and implementation of district and school attendance with various stakeholders : school / site leadership families community partners district analyze and use data (e.g. behavioral incidents climate surveys SEL outcome data) to inform decisions and improvement implementation of systems and supports including crisis response behavioral interventions transitions and monitoring of the educational development academic success and wellbeing of each student through leadership supervisory and management data (student achievement behavior attendance referrals) to identify issues design action plans and drive continuous improvement. Implement district state and school policies including those related to equity inclusion and student support with families to address concerns around academic performance behavior and student behavior systems : maintain appropriate student conduct ensure an orderly environment conducive to learning handle discipline crisis / safety management and school operations (including arrival transitions dismissal hallways etc.).Assist in budget development monitor expenditures oversee school facility operations (maintenance food service security) to ensure quality learning all other such duties as assigned by the principal.
