Position Overview

Our client is seeking a skilled Underwriter to join their credit and risk team. This role is ideal for professionals with experience in merchant cash advance, small business lending, or broader credit / risk management from banking, specialty finance, or private equity environments. The Underwriter will evaluate funding opportunities, assess portfolio risk, and help refine the firm's credit frameworks.

Employment Type : Full-Time

Salary Range : $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 USD / Annually

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze merchant and SMB funding applications, including bank statements, cash flow trends, and credit profiles.
• Evaluate transaction structures, pricing, and repayment terms to align with risk-adjusted yield targets.
• Apply sound credit judgment to originate, syndicate, or purchase participations in MCA and other short-duration credit assets.
• Collaborate with originations, collections, and finance teams to improve underwriting models and post-funding performance monitoring.
• Contribute to the development of underwriting policies, loss forecasting, and exposure management practices.
• Ensure compliance with internal credit policies and applicable state commercial finance regulations.
