APEX Placement and Consulting has partnered with Turning Point in Mount Clemens, MI looking to add a Housing Advocate to their already amazing team. Their primary responsibility will be to support and advocate for survivors and their families while helping them stay safe and achieve their goals. Keep reading for more details!

Develop individualized service plans with program participants and monitor progress toward goals and activity plans.Meet with all assigned residents at least once per week to follow up on progress with goals such as housing, employment, and other identified needs.Coordinate multiple service providers to ensure a cohesive service delivery plan for each participant and their family.Provide on-site support to survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, and stalking, including support for their pets within the housing program.Provide education on budgeting and financial management.Investigate housing for compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations.Update and maintain an accurate family resources / referrals manual.Advocate for participants with community organizations and provide transportation as needed using personal vehicle.Assess danger in client situations, provide information on domestic and sexual violence, and assist families in developing safety plans.Assess lethality of suicidal clients and take appropriate intervention measures.Follow Turning Point policies on reporting suspected or witnessed abuse or neglect to Child Protective Services.What we are looking fo r :
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field preferred; experience as a housing or employment specialist a plus.Knowledge of advocacy-based interventions for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.Specific expertise in housing, trauma-informed practices, suicidality and safety planning.Flexible schedule to meet program requirements; travel required to support participants.Reliable transportation and valid Michigan driver’s licenseAt Apex, we actively encourage applications from underrepresented groups.
