Job description

SUMMARY : The Maintenance Technician Tech III, under direction of the Maintenance Manager or other appropriate administrative staff is responsible for the general maintenance and repairs to the manufacturing equipment, buildings and grounds of the facility, following guidelines established by the company and other governing bodies.

QUALIFICATIONS : To perform this job successfully, the employee must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The employee must have the ability to meet and deal tactfully with fellow employees, vendors and contractors. Must have the ability to install, inspect, repair, maintain and operate the equipment necessary to operate our facility and produce the products sold. Employee must be able to understand complex written and oral instructions. Have a thorough knowledge of the occupation hazards and corresponding safety precautions necessary for the safe performance of assigned duties.

  • Maintain the highest standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Maintains quality standards by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Must possess a current and valid motor vehicle operators license as they are responsible for operating the company vehicle.
  • Inspects work for completeness.
  • Maintains routine records for payments, warrantees, and reference.
  • Assist in the writing, maintaining, and enforcement of all equipment calibrations and licenses throughout the  plant.
  • Ensures operation of equipment by following all operators guidelines, planned maintenance, calling for repairs and evaluating new equipment.
  • Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production runs, answering questions and responding to requests.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures such as Operational Safety (OSHA), Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP guidelines.
  • Coordinates or installs, inspects, repairs, and maintains the electrical, plumbing, mechanical and other related systems throughout the facility.
  • Coordinates or inspects, operates and maintains the heating cooling and ventilation systems (including boiler system) throughout the facility.
  • MUST HAVE BOLIER CERTIFICATION

WORK ENVIRONMENT : The employee is frequently exposed to cold and wet and / or humid conditions in order to perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is often exposed to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles and chemicals. The employee also works around boiler and related equipment.

ABSENCE : Maintenance Technician will be covered by the Maintenance Manager or another Maintenance Technician during their absence.
