COMMUNICATION SPECIALIST
As a member of the Creative Arts Team, the Communication Specialist focuses on creating graphics and videos across various communication mediums that support our goal to equip, mobilize and encourage The Heights Church.
The specialist helps the team achieve that objective by developing compelling digital and physical designs that effectively communicate in an engaging way, and extend the reach and impact of the church’s message. In addition to design work, she or he also contributes through their photography and videography, as well as, by supporting our web, social media, and other communication channels.
The Communication Specialist works under the direction of the Production Director to creatively and effectively communicate to both internal and external audiences. The Communication Specialist also works closely with the Creative Arts Director to ensure brand cohesion and to remain coordinated with departmental requests. He or she will partner with the Content Specialist to creatively plan and execute against the communication strategy for the Creative Arts team.

Position Specific Skills and Experience
RESPONSIBILITIES
Complete a variety of assigned graphic design deliverables
Deliverables include social media graphics, on-screen content, signage, print pieces, layout work, etc.
Design for big screen content using ProPresenter
This role may leverage “pre-made” designs from available commercial subscriptions services to ensure she or he balances efficiency and creative expression
Effectively partner with Content Specialist on creative projects
Communicate and coordinate with Content Specialist to ensure completion of projects
Provide deisgns timely to stay on schedule with communication campaigns
Partner together with Content Specialist on larger design and communication initatives
Engage with ministers on design projects
Meet with ministers to capture designs requirements
Champion overall brand alignment
Participate in the maintenance and oversight of our online presence (website, social media, etc.)
Balance work on multiple projects with overlapping timelines
Maintain an organized file system for all assets and deliverables
Leverage existing naming conventions and file structures to ensure easy access to assets and to support effective collaboration
Contribute to the synergy and collaboration among Creative Arts Team
Participate in general Heights Staff required activities (expense reporting, meetings, retreats, Christmas Eve, Easter, other “all hands on deck” events, etc.)
